Sancreed Today

Sancreed is a lively community with a proud history that stretches from the Neolithic Age to the present day.

The Parish has many ancient monuments that provide visible evidence of the efforts of man over 5,000 years.

During the Iron Age, approximately two thousand years ago, the area was heavily populated and Caer Bran hillfort is probably one of the most well-known settlements.

There was also a group of roundhouses on Sancreed Beacon and the remains of small prehistoric fields can still be detected during the winter months when the vegetation has died off.

Today we work to ensure our community thrives and to see it provides an enjoyable environment in which to live, work and play.
